Bishop Eric Mitchell, known as “The Prophet of the City,” is a Detroit native and the founding pastor of Greater Emmanuel Temple of Deliverance—“The Church in Zion”—established in 1996. A powerful preacher and servant leader, Bishop Mitchell is also the founder and CEO of Emmanuel Community House Outreach (ECHO), which provides mentoring, tutoring, food distribution, scholarships, and family support services throughout Detroit.
He holds degrees in Theology from the Tennessee School of Religion and Minnesota Graduate School of Theology and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Pastoral Studies. In addition to his pastoral work, he serves as Chaplain for the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department and mentors youth as an educator.
As overseer of Zion Ministries International, Bishop Mitchell is passionate about helping people walk in deliverance and grow in their faith. A devoted husband and father, he continues to preach nationwide and hosts on WVTC Detroit Internet Radio, always declaring: “Jesus is the Light of the World—why walk in darkness when you can walk in the Light?”
